The movies of the 15th and 18th

10 Mar

We are pleased to announce two screenings for the next week.

The 15th, we invite you to the new free screening at 8 pm in Nørrebro library. Everyone is very welcome to bring an original DVD movie within the topic “east and west – how people see each other”. All movies have to be in original language with english subtitles. We suggest to post here the movies you would like to bring. We propose “Head-on” (2004) . If there are other movies, the audience that show up will vote.
The screenings are for free, you can bring your own food and the café will serve popcorn and cheap beer and drinks. After the movie, we are going for a beer together. The screenings are in collaboration with IEN ((international employees network) of the DTU.

The 18th we invite you to the new sunday screening at 17.30 in Husets Biograf. We have decided to do a review of some of the 85 “must to be seen” movies, according to Martin Scorsese. The first one is Citizen Kane (1941) . Entrance fee is 35dkk (the money goes to the cinema).

Dear All,

again movie evening at Støberiet 8pm. Feel free to bring your own (original) movies within the theme “East-West: how people see each other” and we are going to watch the one most voted. Our proposal is:

No man´s land (2001)

Ingenmandsland PosterAfter various skirmishes, two wounded soldiers, one Bosnian and one Serb, confront each other in a trench in the no man’s land between their lines. They wait for dark, trading insults and even finding some common ground; sometimes one has the gun, sometimes the other, sometimes both. Things get complicated when another wounded Bosnian comes to, but can’t move because a bouncing mine is beneath him. The two men cooperate to wave white flags, their lines call the UN (whose high command tries not to help), an English reporter shows up, a French sergeant shows courage, and the three men in no man’s land may or may not find a way to all get along.
